caretaking the role of manager for the FamilyLink, which fits well with my normal role as Clinical Director of setting direction, methods and standards for our overall therapy delivery. However, as we have grown so have the demands on the management and we have decided to have two distinct roles: Manager FamilyLink and Clinical Director.

Charles works with a team of 7 therapists.
Our Partners Predominantly we provide our therapy services to other Links in our network. However, we also engage directly with outside agencies to provide therapy programmes that are tailored to their specific requirements.
We have a strong emphasis on family therapy. The majority of our clients come internally from the other YouthLink programmes. We also accept direct referrals from statutory and non-statutory agencies. The therapy is based on the highly effective IST Intensive Structural Therapy model.
What we achieve
Engagement of family/whanau provides a greater chance of success when working with clients. We have been practicing family therapy since 2005 and this therapy has proved very sucessful. It is therefore adapted and incorporated within all of YouthLink's programmes. Combined with a culturally sensitive approach our therapists provide lasting change for young people and their families.
Dr Charles Fishman counts as one of the pioneers of Family Therapy having in 1981 co-authored Family Therapy Techniques, widely regarded as the theoretical foundation of modern practice.
