What we do
| The FortunoLink is a supported bail programme. Young people are referred by CYF and are assessed for admittance. A Youthworker engages with the young person and their family/guardians, the Police and their Youth Advocate (legal representative). Compliance criteria may include remaining drug and alcohol free, non-associations, curfew, completing community hours and letters of apology to victims. The young person develops knowledge on healthy living with regard to food and fitness, budgeting skills and they are linked with community agencies such as Drug and Alcohol Counselling, Anger Management and Family Therapy. |
What we achieve
| We provide young people with an an opportunity to have a fresh start from a clean slate. The young person may resume education at secondary school or tertiary level. Others may take up an apprenticeship or a job. Our key objective is that the young person does not re-offend. They complete 20 hours of community service plus any other hours as directed by the Court. We work against an agreed plan to meet their goals and help each each young person to prepare for a positive future. |
