What we do
|
We ensure that all volunteer mentors have completed our induction programme before we pair them up with a young person. Our mentors then provide an agreed amount of work related mentoring, work experience or arrange vocational training for the young person. Mentoring is about young people making informed choices to reach their personal, work and academic potential and in the process becoming positive, non judgemental role models themselves. |
What we achieve
| We generally see in clients improved work ethics and socialisation skills. Also they are more confident and less likely to revisit previous behaviours whilst being more engaged with peers, family and adult role models. Their offending is reduced and where relevant they show improved educational achievement. Many clients develop a feeling of hope and a future with regards to their working career. |
