What we do
| We accommodate the young person in either a group home or a 1-1 Caregiver placement. Schooling is either in mainstream or alternative education schools. After an initial assessment, discussions are held with family, social worker, therapist and Young Person to develop an individualised Clinical Plan. We establish a system of care with the Young Person, CYFS Social Worker and family. The therapeutic team comprises of psychiatrist, psychologist and therapists with input from doctor, teachers, youthworkers and caregivers. The young person is encouraged to participate in team sports and other group activities to build socializing skills for their future. |
What we achieve
| For each Young Person there is a plan that aims to unite them with at least one member of their family/whanau. This is the work that the therapeutic team are focused on – resolving the issues that have brought the Young Person into care. In some cases the Young Person is transitioned to independence and Youthlink work with other agencies to facilitate this. |
